Can separate divisions use their own job types and customer-document details?

Organize divisions, job types, and document branding in one account

Business Units lets you define the divisions that perform the work, associate their job types, choose a default warehouse, and maintain contact and document details. Assign staff to the relevant units and use business-unit selections in jobs, reports, and other supported workspaces.

Organize divisions, job types, and document branding in one account

  1. Create the business unit

Add the division’s name and email, contact information, and operational details. Choose its status and default warehouse where appropriate.

  2. Associate the work it performs

Select the job types available to the division. Saving keeps the business-unit and job-type associations in step so future work can use the intended choices.

  3. Set the document details

Use Branding & Documents to upload the logo and enter invoice authorization, invoice message, and estimate authorization text. Insert supported document variables where the editor offers them.

  4. Connect staff and work

Assign staff to the relevant business units. Select the correct unit when setting up or booking work so jobs and their related records carry the intended operating context.

  5. Review divisions and update the catalog

Search and filter units, inspect their linked job types, and use the available bulk field or job-type updates when several divisions change together. Use the dashboard or reports to review supported business-unit breakdowns.

Questions about this workflow

Can each division have different job types?

Yes. Associate job types with each business unit and review those links in the business-unit list or editor.

Can I set invoice and estimate wording by business unit?

The business-unit editor provides invoice authorization text, an invoice message, estimate authorization text, and logo configuration. Review the resulting document for the workflow you use.

Is this the same as switching between separate Nexus company accounts?

Business units organize work within one account. Separate company-account access is a different arrangement and should be confirmed for that requirement.
