Can I send a planned SMS sequence to a defined customer audience and follow the replies?

Build a customer SMS campaign from audience to reply

Choose a customer audience, prepare the messages or AI prompts, and set the campaign timing. Save the campaign as a draft, review it, and launch a run from the SMS workspace. Track activity and use an assigned AI agent for replies when the campaign needs one.

Build a customer SMS campaign from audience to reply

  1. Select the audience for the campaign

Choose an existing audience or build one from customer criteria. Preview matching customer records and contact details so you can review who the campaign is intended to reach before launch.

  2. Write the messages and personalize them

Create the messages for the selected days or periods in the timeline. Insert supported customer or company variables and inspect the preview. The fixed-message workflow requires an opt-out keyword in the first message.

  3. Set the campaign timing

Choose a one-time or recurring campaign. Recurring campaigns have daily, weekly, or monthly frequency choices. Set an immediate launch or a scheduled time, with a delay when the workflow calls for one.

  4. Choose how replies should be handled

Assign an available AI agent when it should respond to campaign replies, and choose the customer details that agent receives. AI-prompt campaigns require an assigned agent; fixed-message campaigns can be prepared without one.

  5. Save the draft, then launch the run

Save the campaign and review its audience, message sequence, timing, and agent choices. Start the campaign from the campaign list when it is ready to run.

  6. Review activity and stop a run when needed

Use campaign statistics and history to inspect message activity and enrollments. Stop ends the current run, cancels queued campaign messages, and closes its attached AI sessions. Relaunching creates a fresh run.

Audience setup is separate from message writing

The audience builder lets staff review the customer records matching the selected criteria before attaching the audience to the campaign. A template such as missed-call follow-up can use its own event-based enrollment flow.

An AI agent is a deliberate campaign choice

The campaign builder lets you select the reply agent and the customer information available to it. Configure and test that agent’s behavior before relying on it to handle the conversation.

A stopped run does not resume its old queue

Stop closes the current campaign run. Relaunch starts fresh enrollments and AI sessions, so review the audience and message sequence before launching again.

Questions about this workflow

Can I use a series of messages rather than one text?

Yes. Select days or periods in the campaign timeline and write the message or AI prompt for each selected step.

Can the text include the customer’s name?

The composer supports dynamic variables and a preview. Use the supported customer and company fields for the personalization you need.

Can AI answer the replies?

An active agent assigned to the campaign can respond to its replies. Choose the agent and customer data in the builder; AI-prompt campaigns require an assigned agent.

Can I stop messages that are already queued?

The Stop action ends the current run and cancels queued campaign work, enrollments, and attached AI sessions. It cannot recall a message already sent.

Is saving a campaign the same as launching it?

No. The builder saves a draft. Launch the reviewed campaign from the campaign list to start a run.
